Beautiful. I love the gullet on this one. And it looks like your grande is in great company. There's a jungle back there behind it.

It's gorgeous! I wish my hybrid would bloom. I have been waiting for years. The nice thing about phrags is that bugs don't seem to like them.

Congratulations on your blooming success Brenda! Nice display with the 3 flowers. How tall is the flower stem and even your plant?

Careful in thinking like this about bugs...i've had a heck of a time the past 3 years or so...on and off with thrips....then rot from spraying for thrips....

Spike is approx 28 inches in legnth and the plant 18 inches tall. Has 2 new growths so really hoping for a good show next year!

Thanks everyone for your compliments! Took the picture just in time as I had a "jumper" last night...the first flower fell off. Back to 2 flowers till next bud opens.

My Grande opened it's first bloom this morning. I am so excited. I actually had hoped I would see part of it happening, but last night it was a bud and this morning it was a flower! This was my first phrag, bought in spike, and I hope I can keep it alive.

I have mine in s/h in lava rock. I'm not sure thrips would be a problem in this medium.
