Beautiful blooms. I like the colors on this and the long petals....it doesnt look like frozen altho the leaves has the tell tale signs of dryness

The freezing was two years ago if i recall correct, and "the sign of dryness" is the damage that is left from the stress of freezing. It has never been dry as it grow in S/H in hydrofilic rockwool and perlite.

I love phrags, but some of them get REALLY big!
They are a shoe-in for S/H culture.
I had someone tell me that Phrag. caudatum could not be grown in S/H, but mine is doing fine.

I grow this one in my south west window in a version of S/H culture. The substrate is a mix of rockwool and perlite that I hold wet all the time, always water on the plate. I have no air conditioner and I have the window open all the time during the summer.

This one is not very big. The long petals are about 40 cm today. Though if they grow much longer I need to find something to put the pot on before they hit other pots
