Phrag. Sergeant Eric (Phrag. Eric Young x Phrag. sargentianum), is an easy to grow and bloom Phrag for me here in Central Florida. I grow it in a bark mixture sitting in an inch of water.

I've always been afraid to leave water sitting in my phrag in bark (a bessae hybrid) but I'm thinking I should. My other paph is in S/H and doing well but I think I'm scared to keep the bessae hybrid wet enough and I think it suffers as a result.

Rosie, if sitting your bessae hybrid in water scares you, try adding some sphagnum moss to it's mix to help retain more moisture.
