Perhaps I can't take all the credit for this as I have only had the plant for about 6 months. However, during the time I had it, it grew a flower stalk and finally bloomed. I did the best I could with the photos, taken with my iPhone. I need a lot of practice take pictures of orchids:

I have no idea why the jpgs came out that way, it is the first time that I have tried to post a photo. Can someone help me? I don't know why they are sideways and upside down.

The flower had opened a few days before I took the photos and the long petals that hang down on the sides got longer. There are at least two more buds already formed so it will have flowers for a while.

This flower is very red. The challenge ahead is to see if I can get it to bloom again. I have only been taking care of it for about six months.
