Phrag. Pink Fire in bloom
Here is my Phrag. Pink Fire (Phrag. Eric Young 4N
'Rocket Fire' x Phrag. Rosy Charm 4N).
I've had this for a couple years and it bloomed in Nov. of 2010 which was a first bloom for it I think. Unfortunately I didn't measure the flowers, but I'm sure it is much larger this year (4 inches across). Even the colour and shape seems more substantial and solid. But I noticed it has a spike (wart) on the pouch and it did on the first bloom last time too! Has anyone ever seen that before? It also has that ragged look to the top of the petal which isn't damage or anything structural. There are at least two other buds behind it and maybe 3. It produced 4 last year.
I'm not sure I am really thrilled with it, so if it's still in bloom for our next meeting I may just put it on the sale table! Or maybe not.... too hard to part with my chids!

Thanks. The plant seems healthy and robust with another almost mature growth and a smaller one as well as older growths. I will see what the next bud blooms out like.

Very interesting. I like this one alot. The huge open pouch is very unusual. Can't wait to see what next years blooms look like.

Thanks for the comments. The pouch is interesting, sort of like a puffed up inside lining of spotted yellow! It is the only Phrag I have (except for a new un-bloomed one) so don't know how others look in the pouch. It's definitely different than my Paphs.
