Default Phrag lead growth rotted

Hello,

I have a besseae hybrid which I've had for about two years now. It has three mature fans and the second is currently blooming. The new growth, which would have been the fourth, spontaneously turned brown and rotted. My question is, will there ever be another lead growth on this plant and could the third (and last) mature fan still bloom?

Thanks,

John

I don't grow Phrags, so I definitely could be wrong, but I would think that the other fans are still capable of starting new growth
I'm sure someone will correct me if I am mistaken

,yes I agree with whiterabbit,if there was only one lead as a whole plant then would be a problem, but usually it send a new one from other place, if the whole plant it's not infected with virus or something.Phrags are very sensitive if there is water inside of the new growth,so be careful how you water so it does not go inside of the new growth. To keep it in control the Physan is a good stuff to spray it once a week.

Yes it will produce new growth . That is the one thing I have found with Phrags . as ewcia posted . regarding the water in new growth . I have quite a few of them, that is the only problem I have experienced. Happy Growing ! Gin

Thanks for the advice. That's pobably what happened. Knowing how much phrags like water, I guess I wasn't too careful about how I watered. I'll be sure to keep the water out of the new growths from now on!
