Cypripediums at the Botanical Garden
Took my mom to the New York Botanical Gardens this Sunday (Mom's Day). On our tour of the rock garden we came across some Cypripediums.
First is C. parvifolium var pubescens
Then we have a Cypripedium hybrid. Silly me forgot to take a picture of the tag.
And finally another hybrid, this time forgot to take a picture of the flower without the tags, C. Gisela (C. parviflorum x C. macranthos).

Gorgeous. I love cyps and these are such wonderful looking plants.
I think I need to show those pictures to mine so they know what I expect Although I can't really complain. All three of my cyps have come out of dormancy (my first year with them over the winter so I was worried) and the one I had last spring has come up with two growths this year instead of the one it had last year and the one I bought in March (and paid for a single growth) came up with two

Thanks all,
Rosie, do you expect to see them flower this year? I wonder if they flower every year.
Thanks Ronald for looking and posting. The quality of these pictures is much reduced from the original files. I had to resize and take snippets of the snippets of the original (hence the blurriness) to get them to a size Orchid Board will take.

Yes I think so. On at least one of them I can actually see the buds forming. The others are further behind in growth but I'm expecting them to flower as well.
I believe they do flower every year once mature enough, not certain if every growth will flower. Quite interested to see on that.
