I looked for all threads and I cannot find info, how large the specimen of kovachii has to be to flower for the first time. I am thinking of buying some, but as it is very expensive I would like to know how long I will wait for flowers. If it usually flower for the first time when it forms the second growth (second rosette of leaves) ? Or it have to be much larger ? Please reply even shortly.
go look at the kovachii mans site... Piping Rock Orchids Home Page..and you will not find anything but kovachii hybrids. I'm assuming thats what you meant is a hybrid?.?
then see if you can find the thread where the Kovachii seeds are all steeped in mystery, subterfuge and propaganda ...maybe some murders too...
(hollywood)
it would make a good book.."The Kovachii Thieves"
One good source of information on this would be to email Orchids Limited: orchids@orchidweb.com. They've bloomed some Phrag. kovachii and a lot of kovachii hybrids. Beautiful blooms!
Thanks for all replies ! The plant, which I have seen for sale here in Europe has one larger growth and one new starting at a base. The seller said, that it needs one year to bloom. I am not sure if I understand RJSquirrel reply... Did you mean, that this is doubt, that this is true kovachii and it is just a hybrid ?
