Lol.
I actually envy people who can go to a Wal-mart
All we ever get here in Australia at Wal-mart type stores are cymbidiums and very occasionally bigbbium hybrid dens & generic phals . Only the cymbs, if lucky, are named

This discussion seems to be wandering away from ebay orchids. I'd just like to add my impression that the ebay feedback ratings are misleading. Ebay discourages negative and even neutral feedback; instead buyers and sellers are encouraged to work out problems before posting. Great in theory but for some vendors selling subpar plants one would think the winning bidders can't tell a healthy plant from a dying one. In my attempts to work problems out, I've gotten replacement plants that were as bad as the originals. Read the past feedback, if anyone has withdrawn feedback by mutual consent, avoid that seller. In any event, my experience tells me that the % of positive feedback is usually an exaggerated number.

I agree. I usually end up forgiving the vendor and giving positive feedback.....maybe I should be more harsh.
Ebay feed back on plant vendors is definitely not accurate, I think I'm not the only one just leaving positives...I they should have a 5 point ranking system or something so I can give 4 out of 5, rather than always leaving positives

Well I wouldn't pay for any sanderianum unless it was extemely cheap. Their hybrids are easier to grow, and I think look better

The other problem is when vendors wait until YOU leave your feedback. Then, if you leave a negative, they whap one one on you even if you were fast to pay and did nothing wrong on your end. Also, if in the negotiation of a problem you intimate that you may leave a negative they threaten you with one right up front. I had that happen to me recently. "Feedback works BOTH ways," is what they told me. Friggin' jerks.

.... I hate it when they don't leave feedback before I do...in that case I'm almost forced to leave a positive!

You are lucky with your preferences. I prefer sanderianum specie, not its hybrids and I have two of them already. And I'm looking at the third potential plant now.

oh wow you already have some
Now with new generations they are becoming more vigorous from breeding though...a third potential plant from a newer generation won't be a bad idea
Steven's plant seems to be growing quite fast

I hope so. One of them is badly damaged. It is not dying, but it is not growing either. I have it for few months already. And I'm waiting for the second plant to arrive.
