Default Phragmipedium chapadense Campacci & Takase

This has been described as recently as 10 years ago, in 2000. The species is native of the Brazilian central Plateau, where it was found in the Chapada dos Veadeiros at 900 meters above the sea level.
I have seen photos of plants completely burnt by wild fires that start new growths where you wouldn't think it would be possible. Certainly, the fire is strong enough to burn the leaves, but not the rhizome.

Doc, I hate disappointing you, but PhragCat is too short...
I didn't post them here, but take a look at these few links:

What about CatPhragMasdracata? It has more presence, hasn't it?

Great flower, this is a new species I hadn't heard of and certainly haven't seen available. Very nice indeed.

Gorgeous Phrag, really interesting about the wild fires as well. I've heard that some plants could do that but didn't realise any of them were orchids!
