Thank you all. Too kind.

Becca, this plant sits in water (in a saucer, water added) most of the time. Fertilized & "treated" with Bayer Advanced Rose & Flower Care a few times when it is outside (spring-fall), semi-shade w/ am + pm sun. A dose or two w/ Peters 20-20-20. Don't overdo it. Your plant in s/h should be in a similar situation to mine with regards to water, I would think! 1/2+ vanda light + saucer w/ water in winter inside.

Raymond.

edit: here's a pic of a bloom from August this year.

Raymond,

I originally had mine in a chc mixture sitting is a saucer of water. The roots took off like crazy and then someone pointed out to me that I should put it in s/h culture so the medium wouldn't break down. I think I just transfered it at the wrong time of the year, but it is back now! I didn't know they needed vanda lighting....I'll have to really increase the lighting! And as far as fertilizing, I get brown leaf tips even from not fertilizing! I fertilize very very weekly about every third weak (I water weakly). Thanks for the help! I hope mine will look as beautiful as yours someday!

Really beautiful, Raymond.

What was the size of this plant when you bought it? And how long have you had it?

Becca, brown leaf tips might be from too much salt in your water,or from not enough water.Watering once a week it is too little for prags. What kind of water do you use?
