OrchidMania: Cultivation of Orchids This site talks a lot about water. Perhaps it will help you.

It may be something in your water or the rock. I think it most likely that it is the water.

I wonder if it could be the lava red lava rock. The red color indicates iron. I canīt forget when my grandfather showed me a piece, not litte and not large but rather red. Maybe I should have rinced the pebbles more. I do not think it is the water as it is foltered already. Maybebe I should gibe the plant a realy good rince?

Probably a good idea. Volcanic rock can have iron in it. I do not know if this would harm your phrag. A rinse cannot hurt and phrags love to be wet.

Me too Sheridan. I think I may become a phrag addict. When I saw a spike yesterday, I was over the moon! I must be doing something right. My phrags are my faves. Carol
