I don´t know what I´m doing wring with mine. I´m getting brown leaftips. Is it to little water? I have watered it twice a week.

I have one being shipped to me next week. It will be another learning experience for me. Now the big challenge is to not kill it.

Spider, I think the brown leaf tips may be caused by iron or some other mineral in the water. I have a phrag that also has brown leaftips, but it blooms and seems happy so I'm ok with it. I also don't show any orchids so I'm not as concerned.

Phrags have to have good water. There must be something in the water that it is sensitive to. I don't know a great deal about water but I do know that. Perhaps watering by soaking or draining it in a sink. There is even distilled though that is controversial. Isn't everything with orchids? The more books I read, the more I think that. Carol

I have an orchid with brown leaf tips. Discovered that it is sending roots down into the humidity tray below. Tray water has colloidal silver in it to keep nasties from growing in the water. Maybe keep my chid from growing too! It's always something.....

I use only RO water. The plant stands in a mixture of bark, fresch Spagnum and red vulcantic rock. Can it be Iron in the vulcanc rock?
