Phrag Grande - Orchid Board

My new purchase for today. I think it's on it's last flower, but atleast I get to enjoy it for a little while. Does nayone know how long each bloom lasts?

I could venture a guess that they would last anywhere from 1-3 weeks. Some phrags drop their blooms even though they show no signs of wilting. Phrag Sorcerer's Apprentice is one that does this and can be a little unnerving if you're not expecting it. Nice looking phrag

Grande is not one that will drop when it shows no signs of wilting. The petals will dry up and it will wrinkle a bit and turn soft when it is done. It is a long petaled hybrid of longifolium x caudatum. P. caudataum is not a sequential flowering plant and the flowers tend to wilt after a month or so of blooming.

Heather is right, The flowers last for about a month. Mine had five buds last blooming and all but one had fully opened before the fist one started to show signs of aging. They each opened about a week apart.

Nice buy!!! I love the long petaled Phrags.
