Also, I am now prepared to report that rubber mulch (made from recycled tires) does work well as a S/H medium. I repotted it into this maybe three months ago.
Interesting note you made about using tire mulch - tire crumb as it is called around here is often used for playgrounds intead of sand. It is softer for the kids to fall on and stays in the playground better.
Are you using it for any other orchids?

What kind of container have you got this orchid in...it certainly does love the conditions you are giving it.
Very nice and good job on the branching. The pouch colour is fantastic! That's a great idea to experiment with the new medium. Keep updates on how it's going...please.
