Default Crazy root growth, do I repot?

So I bought a phragmipedium fedora brochu back in January. The root system was in pretty poor shape because it was not grown wet. After doing some research I found out that this type loved water. Since then I have been keeping it in a shallow dish of water and the root growth has been sooooo crazy. I have never seen an orchid put out so many roots in such a short time. Now it's getting to the point that they are starting to push out the moss and actually growing out the top as well. I repotted when I bought it....do I need to repot again? Or is a "root bound" pot okay for phragmipediums?

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

Congratulations! You're growing it very well.

The medium is still fresh. You could repot now, or wait a while. They tend to grow fine when very rootbound so long as they're well-watered. Next time you'll know how fast they grow for you, and use a proportionally larger container.

Most people repot Phrags every 1-2 years. The medium doesn't last much longer when kept very wet. So keeping it in that pot until next spring would be fine if you want to do that.
