How difficult are Phrag. Kovachii hybrids to grow?
I’ve been looking around at Phrag. Kovachii hybrids for a while because I like the characteristics of Kovachii, but I’m not entirely willing to take the risk of buying an extremely expensive species orchid for it to possibly die. I’m looking mostly hybrid with at least some Besseae in it, like Phrag. Fritz Schomburg for reference.
I’m aware hybrids are (usually) easier than species so I’m assuming the same here (not sure to what degree)?
I live in the North East for reference. So warm-hot summers and my house ranges from temps in the high 80’s (when I’m not there in summer) and down to the low 60’s in winter.. Humidity is relatively average for a house that needs heating. The only redeeming factor is that I have reverse osmosis water.
I own Phrag. Grande which has done fine for me for a number of years, although it’s quite different from what I have mentioned above.
Thank you!
