Just acquired a Phragmipedilum and i am looking for the basics

thanks WW!! i really appreciate the input.
I have made a few modifications- i switched to a normal terracotta pot ( as opposed to one with the big side slits made for orchids) and then the LECA did wick all the way up...i am going to switch this into a deep res and move it into my lath house once i devise a way to send overflow rain water into the res to keep it from getting stagnant as i have heard that is very bad for these guys.

I was considering switching it to a plastic pot for even more wicking but i think the extra depth of the res will help as well.
