Cymb Dolly Cutesie 4N x Dolly Feather Hill 4N
I got this from Olympic Orchids, and it arrived approximately a month ago. It's been kept under very bright light and in damp moss until I repotted it a few days ago. I potted it into a 3" clay pot with repotme.com's Imperial cymbidium mix. It's been watered daily for the last few days. When I watered it yesterday, I noticed this.

Looks like a spike.
BTW, did you buy it because of the name?

Hello Dolly, well hello Dolly
It's so nice to have you back where you belong
You're looking swell, Dolly, we can tell, Dolly
You're still glowing, you're still crowing, you're still going strong
We feel the room swaying 'cause the band's playing
One of your old favorite songs from way back when
Take a rap, fellows, find her an empty lap, fellows
Dolly'll never go away, Dolly'll never go away

That is how Dolly got her name. She has those huge Carol Channing eyes. I never connected the cymb to the cat. Lol

Ah ha! So that's what I was supposed to be seeing! Dogs ate my glasses, remember?

How exciting!
I love that it is a Dolly, too.

Not to burst your bubble, but there are no "tea cup" cym hybrids occurring without the use of hormones, assuming you are talking about under 6-8" plants. They are tiny until you buy one in bloom and then when the new growth comes the following year, va-ba-boom, you get the normal size for the breeding.
A sib cross of Dolly, which is what you have, will be a novelty sized plant with leaves 12-18+" long and mostly cream to soft green flowers.

I consider my bubble appropriately burst. However, I do believe that's a bud in the picture.
