The propagation of BBs is one of the most rewarding aspects of growing Cymbidiums you can do. Not only can you get divisions of known good plants at a much lower price than a blooming size division, but you will learn how to be a better grower if you can get them to blooming size. I started that way over 50 years ago and will never regret it.

I am sorry you have not sent for the additional information on alternative and successful ways to germinate BB growth. I always found the more info you had on a subject the better, but maybe you are not that eager to try anymore.

And you can buy them everywhere, even when in vacations in some exotic location...they can handle that for a long time.

This spring I saved BBs from 6 of my better Cymbidiums, with most having very few live roots.
The larger ones went into my normal terrestrial mix in 4" or 6" pots, while the smaller ones went into spaghnum/bark mix (4:1) in 3" pots. They sit on the bench next to some compots with Cymbidium plugs, so I water them twice a week.
So far, 5 of the 6 have started new growths.
