Can you help me guess the ID for this cymbidium sold as Valerie Absolonova? The plant looks like dayanum, but the flowers aren't quite right. No fragrance, and the flowers are 1 3/4 to 2 in tall. Thanks for your help!

Without a photo, it is impossible to know what you have. Even with a photo, identifying one of thousands of dayanum hybrids in existence, is probably also impossible and no guarantee. Please do not make guesses. It serves no good purpose. An outside chance is to contact the grower. They may know what it is or what the label got mixed up with. Bottom line is just to enjoy the flower for what it is.

Oops, I think my photos didn't upload. A purpose for me guessing the parentage is knowing whether it'll survive my heat, seeing as I'm too hot to grow the vast majority of cymbidiums. I was trying to get Valerie Absolonova for its heat-tolerance.

Is this the same plant about which you queried in another thread? It would be easier to continue that thread, rather than creating a new one. The photo is already in that thread.

I agree with you estación seca and I have replied to the identification forum.
