Although this is beautifully presented with the ferns, etc, in short time the fern roots will strangle the Cym roots in the pot. This happened to me in a dayanum and almost killed the dayanum before I understood the problem, pretty as it was. If these plants were all growing toether on a large log where the roots could wander around, it might be OK.
Secondly, finlaysonianum and the other coriacious leaved (thick and fleshy) species in the group, want very bright light and warm cattleya type temperatures. They will do best grown under those conditions hung high in a warm greenhouse. If you do not have that option, find the warmest, sunniest place in your growing area where you can give them at least a close approximation to what they want, and with no danger of frost or better yet, nothing below 45F.
