Default Ansellia Africana w/side spikes

Have had this a long time over ten years, this is the first time I ever saw it put out flower spikes from side of stems, has flowered every year but never with side flowers, anybody else ever had this happen? Outdoors, bright some sun, temperature tolerant.

Perhaps this is just a perk of having a healthy, multi-growth plant.

Right--happy plant, and getting more mature each year. I think that really makes a difference. I have some older maxillarias that bloomed this year much better than before, with no significant change in care.

Whatever it is, I'll take it!

A real specimen, congratulations and good job.
