This is a interesting one from Kwa Zulu Natal in SA. Nice stripe on the botom petals

Ansellia africanus (not sure about that spelling?) really got my attention at a recent show. lime green and chocolate brown together...very nice.

Ansellia africana is an easy to grow plant. Just i imagine it is hard to find in the US

I've seen two different forms: a dwarf one (40/50 cm tall a bit more than 1 foot) and another one: more than 1 meter (more than 3 feet). You can see them in the wild: which one is the most common? The biggest or the smallest?

There is almost a variation for each african country.in the south- small plant, smaller blooms and less spotting. As you go up into africa the bigger the plant and blooms get with more spotting
