If they are getting blown over (generally 2 or 3 gallon pots don't, due to the weight of the plant), I just stick
em in a heavier cache pot.

Cyms do like a fair amount of sun, plus the cool nights period, and can be difficult to get them to bloom if only grown indoors.

They don't have a rest period. New growth starts while the plant is in bloom, or shortly after. Spikes start soon after (or just before) new growth matures.

Lots of light and water are wanted while they are growing in spring and summer.

Short periods at (or slightly below) freezing is ok, but buds or blooms need to be protected from frost or freeze. 19 is too cold. They don't require the cool temps (nor a lot of light) once spikes have started (tho too warm and dry can cause bud blast).

Good to know after it finishes blooming I will stick it outside on our warmer and nicer days and nights. In a shadier spot on my porch so that it does not get scorched.

Yeah we usually get a full week freeze w ice and snow between Dec.-March we had a mini one that was not bad a few weeks ago so I am hoping that that is at its worst.

You need to reach out to orchid people there. Sonya and I are in the SF bay area and we really don't know your situation. I can't get a good feel for your area. It's sounding like more Oklahoma than Dallas. You might try experimenting with how Oklahoma growers raise orchids.

I've been in Dallas with snow (2-3 inches sticking for 2-3 days). A Cym prepared properly could survive that.
