Please help


Hi

I have the same problem with my flowers, I have attached some photo, I bought my flower from Home Base store about month ago and it was fine, I just give it the tap water once a week ( put it on a water for about 30 min) not using any fertilizer, my room temperature is always between 18 to 23 C, the flowers was fine about a month and now it is getting brown, also something like honey or syrup is coming out from end of each flowers, please have a look to the last image, I am very worried for my flowers, I have about 10 other orchid flower and they are all fine.

please advise.

It's sap. Very common and isn't harmful at all. In fact it means the plant is doing ok. Nothing to worry about. And if you do lose your blooms it'll be from the shock of going to a store and then being bought etc. I would lightly fertilize though. Nothing much. Maybe 1/4 strength.

When a Cymbidium's lip turns red like that it's time for it to drop.
I would say it's just it's natural time to stop blooming.

Hope it gives you a great show next year!

That is sap. Completely normal. Taste it. Very sweet. Like candy.

Your flowers are reaching the end of their bloom life and the plant is ready to go into serious growth mode.

Cymbidium flowers do not last forever. For many varieties one month is the limit, especially if it is in the house with warm temps and low humidity. To make the flowers last longer, keep the plant cooler with more humidity.

And yes, the sticky stuff is normal nectar.
