Since this plant was awarded in California and i knew the owner, the hybridizer and the judging team which awarded it, I just thought it would be interesting to know the story behind the plant.

For the first 48 hours after it opens, it is very showy. It is downhill from there in form and in color. The worst thing you can do with a red is to subject the flowers to bright sunlight. All colors will fade in bright light.

I'm just wondering if anyone is aware of any of these flowers currently obtainable. I have been searching in vain for a cymbidium kiwi midnight geyserland for some days now. I would be willing to pay, well, in all honesty, a truly exorbitant price for one of these orchids, specifically one in bloom or ready to bloom. I am a photographer, and I need one or several for a project that is very dear to me. I would be happy to pay a very nice finder's fee for anyone who could point me in the right direction! Any source on earth would be suitable, as long as they're willing to part with one of these cymbidiums (for a high price!).

As I noted in the previous thread, specific crosses and even more, specific cultivars, that were readily available 7 years ago are not likely to be around much now, unless you get a division from another grower. (Society auctions are a good place, though most societies are just getting started with meetings these days) Hybridizers have moved on to new crosses.
