My first Cymbidium bloom!

The flower markets are full of cymbidiums in bloom right now; it is great to walk around look and smell.

Just some of the names that the Chinese call or refer to some commonly found cymbidiums;

C. goeringii, is called the Spring Orchid
C. ensifolium, is called the Autumn Orchid
C. kanran, is called the Winter Orchid
C. sinense, is called the Dark Orchid
C. faberi, is called the Fragrant Orchid

Spring- summer make sure they get plenty of sun, water, and fertilizer.

Summer nights were cooler this year thank god.

I'll have to look those up.

Ours are flooded with cymbidiums too! It's really lovely to look at.
