Cym. Cherry Cola is a cross of (Pink Peach x Beacon Fire) registered in 1993. It is NOT a true miniature in flower or plant size, but a Novelty, meaning half way in between the two. Novelties may not have as many flowers as a true Miniature, but always should have more than a Standard. A lot depends on the species behind the cross.
These Novelties were originally bred primarily to decrease the plant size of the large Standards for ease of hobbyist growing and to increase the number of flowers from that of the Standard. Some are smaller than others, even within the same cross.
The 'Geyserland' cultivar is just one of many Cherry Colas in mericlone production. SBOE (Santa Barbara Orchid Estate) has Cherry Colas, and although they are very similar in color and size, may not have the same cultivar name.
Be very observant of the plant condition from the big box stores like Costco and be sure to check for signs of virus.
