Most Cymbidiums are semi-terrestrial - growing in the organic litter above the ground surface. They aren't too fussy about potting media - media should retain moisture, while draining well. Medium bark mix is often used. I have my hybrids in a mix combination of medium and fine bark chips. Pot should also drain well, and not be left standing in water.
I'd probably wait til spring when there is new growth before repotting. I don't use low nitrogen fertilizer at all. Right now, being finished blooming you can get away without much fertilizer.
