Default 'tis the season ... Cymbidium dayanum

I've seen some other members post their's recently ...

I got this as a small division about 5 years ago - bloomed for the first time for me last fall. I was worried that may have been a freak accident - so, I was very happy to see spikes on it a while back!

There are 3 spikes blooming now, plus one more that has just recently shown buds.

Mine is potted in chc mix, plastic pot (approx. 1 gallon). I let the media get nearly dry before watering. It gets a good deal of morning sun, into early afternoon in summer - much less this time of year.

Grows outdoors year-round here in zone 9. Takes temps up to just over 100 for short periods, and down to freezing (or just below) for short periods (sheltered). Took a short, but hard dumping of small (unexpected) hail a couple of years ago - still bears some marked foliage from that event

Thanks for looking

Thanks Bud
I got that pot a few years back just because they were onsale (have a green one also, contains a passion vine) . This needed a larger cache pot after going up to a bigger pot - I was happy I had this for it Many of my outside orchids require clay or ceramic cache pots (if potted in plastic) to hopefully prevent them from getting constantly blown over

This species is one of the easiest Cymbidium species to grow as it will thrive and bloom under many different conditions. That is why it has become so popular with novice growers. It has become so prolific in some parks in Hawaii and because it is not a species native to Hawaii, efforts are being made to eradicate it.
