I LOVE my Grammi! Every time I look at it, there's new growth. It IS somewhat intimidating as you ponder what you're going to do when you can no longer pick it up!

I have seen this kind of plant grow to a humongous three ton at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens (see pic); it took chains to hang it up for all to see 54 spikes with 4 ft long spikes full of blooms. So be very careful you are harboring a sleeping giant.

I've seen that! If you Google it, you get to see the whole series of pictures that guide you through them lowering it down, building a new basket, repotting it AND hoisting it back up. All while wearing rubber suits because it's over a pond! Interesting ordeal to say the least!

Hi, could not help but notice your optimism ! Having a selection of mature G. S. plants ( 20 year+ ) I,m still awaiting the first blooms.Knowing the whereabouts of a very large mature plant ( in the wild ) I have the joy of seeing that in flower almost every year !Plenty of sun shine , little feeding and years of patience will pay dividends for this Queen of beauties. Good luck ! Evert ten Houten.
