according to Chinese national standards, the formal English name for莲瓣兰 should be Cymbidium lianpan Tang et Wang. lianpan is Wade-Giles romanization for 莲瓣, the same as lianban.
I've no idea about "Tang et Wang".
The English name "Cymbidium lianpan Tang et Wang" first came up in a book written in 1991.
