Sounds like you are an expert on Cyms and have identified your own problem.

HaHa, well I wouldn't go that far, more like an experienced amateur. I've never really encountered that many problems with Cymbidiums. Just back when I first began growing them perhaps. Plus I never really considered this slight color change to be a problem either. More like an interesting curiosity. Just yesterday, my 2nd NoID Cym's newest spike started doing the exact same thing. The lips on its newest blooms began showing the same rosy glow, and I've had them inside for the most part. Perhaps it's something in its genetics? Whatever the case, I find it rather intriguing. Orchids certainly are a wonderful group of plants.

Oh yeah, while I'm replying, my 3rd NoID's spike of blooms has just began to open up.

I went ahead and snapped a picture of my 2nd NoID, just to show what I'm talking about. It certainly wasn't expected, but I'm not complaining. It makes it all just that much more enjoyable. I love displaying them all on my dresser, where I can see them up close each and every time I walk by.

you have interesting NOIDs. Mine from Costco didn't bloom for 2 years and then I tried the cold treatment and got 3 spikes. Unfortunately 2 passed on to cym heaven prematurely. The third spike is still developing. I live in hope. Its a standard cym, yellow.
What I really wanted to say is that I also like cyms, but space and cold weather is really a problemfor me. I am starting up with Chinese-type cyms - really easy because they don't take up much space. Of course the blooms are not that exciting but on the other hand they are fragrant.
