Default Ansellia africana

My recently-bought Ansellia africana.
It is still a young plant and therefore only 3 flowers in spike.
Hope it grow well in my graden.

Thanks for the kind words, Gwen.

Gloria, ansellia is common here. It does look more like a dendrobium than its relative species, such as Cymbidiums.

I've only seen this offered for sale on line, how very fortunate you are to live in a place that you can have orchids in your 'garden'!
It's beautiful and I'm sure it will do well for you.

I agree with Bird Song Farm, I just can't imagine how wonderful it must be to be able to actually grow orchids outside!

That's just soooo impossible here.

That's no problem for me to grow most tropical orchids outdoors all year round.
I don't have the greenhouse and hence i don't grow phalaenopsis and other hot growing vandas due to our cold winter.
Cool growers or those enjoy constant higher humidity are also unsuitable to my growing area.

It's spectacular! Funny how we all want to grow what doesn't suit our climate!
