Can you show the entire plant? The flower resembles a cymbidium goeringii, the plant size and flower count are different between the plants. Georingii have short inflorecences and only 1-3 flowers.
Or maybe it is a very unique ensifolium variety (But ensifolium have tall stems)
how is the pod developing ?
I also have a pod developing - happened spontaneously ( yep, I know, hard to believe - but its true ! ). I read that it takes up to a year for the pod to mature.
I have a friend that has been breeding cymbidiums for years and you should have mature seeds in 6 months you could leave it on for 7-8 months as long as it dose not start to split or yellow. also depends if your green podding it or letting it split and washing the seed,
I have a small lab in my basement and hopefully this year i get to flasking .Right now i'm cleaning my man cave as we speak so i can start flasking stuff . the hard part for me is keeping up with the flasking.the germinations is easy , but i always get caught up in stuff and forget about them and forget to replate them but i'm telling myself this winter i'm going to do some real flasking , i have a lot of seed that needs to be sown, and the cymbidium species from china is one of my main focus.
pollination is the easy part for me. But I have run into ploidy issues with phal hybrids. If you stick to species then you should be ok with viable seed.
