This orchid plant was repotted in an 8-inch net pot and have once again flowered and given me several pods. I will have to research as to how many days the pods might open I discovered the pods just a week from now. I have no idea what to do with pods so if anyone wants it then I can mail it to you.

I guess I just have to learn how to flask. As of now nobody wants my seed pods....

I think there are services you can engage that can flask for you. I have seen people write about them on this site. Gallup and Stribling orchids puts up a price list for its flasking service. If it is the cost that you are able to pay in this case, then possible they are competitive with other flasking services? I don't know myself. So just google "Orchid propagation services" or "Orchid flasking services," and there are many. It is almost like being a backyard breeder of puppies. Is there a reason why your orchid and hybrid should be reproduced? Is there something special about it? Is it a prize winner, or really cool hybrid?

I am excited to have these seed pods and I just didn't want it to go to waste. I have looked into your suggestions and it is expensive. I am not a grower nor do I sell any of my orchid plants. But I was hoping somebody who knows how to flask who does not have this kind of orchid would like to avail of my offer.

Bud - Putting the seeds in flask takes a little time, like baking cookies the weekend after Thanksgiving. But once they're in flask they can sit there for a few years. There is a window of many months when they can be removed from the flask. Other than the first day or so, there is no rush to do any step of the process.

There are threads here on Orchid Board by Roby from Italy concerning flasking at home, using household bleach to sanitize the flasks. He used small jars as flasks. He had considerable success. Unfortunately the photos are no longer accessible, but the verbal descriptions are good.

You should have plenty of seeds to work with. Look into it! Even if you only get 1 or 2 full of plantlets, you will have learned a lot, and you will have plants to trade!

Right, it might be a new experience....but these plants get to grow large....

Beautiful...I have a got a Gram Elegans that's even bigger that I thinking about selling or trading. It's getting too big for my situation.
