Maria that is gorgeous!!! Grammatophyllums are one of my favorites. I just got my regular scriptum from Kawamoto in the mail before yesterday. I hadn't seen you in a while. Hope everything is well with you. Are you going to Redlands today??

Default Thanks everyone!

...for your kind comments. To answer some questions:

Are those fragrant?
Unfortunately, they aren't. I wish they were though. I want to get my hands on a citrinum, I hear they are slightly fragrant.

Great growing there! How are you growing this, as I've considered these, but have been wary of conditions (and size... but look at the flower count!)
Yes, the flower count IS amazing!

I grow this in hydroton, river rock and charcoal. I was afraid of root rot because it's in such a big pot (8 inches) so I tried to make the mix as open as possible.

I water with all my other plants (catt alliance) and give it as much light as a cattleya. That's pretty much it. As I mentioned in another forum, I bought this as my "challenge plant" at the Redlands last year, and I'm super glad I did.

Does it have a name?
Yup. :0

Grammatophylum scriptum 'Early Riser' x self. From Kawamoto Orchids.

C. intermedia in the background? Or mossiae?
That is a Laelia purpurata var. russeliana 'Pinkie', purchased from SBOE last year.

Thanks PeeWee. There are so many that look the same. Your purpurata looks nice and healthy. Mine has yet to bloom. I got it in a trashcan couple years ago. No I don't spend my time rummaging through trash cans. Just happenstance when I am out walking around the beach area where I live. I can spot a discarded orchid from quite a distance. Have a great day.
