Not only do they vary in color and size but absolutely in flower shape (form), especially if you look at the many different forms found in the species and often carried into their first generation hybrids...... mastersii, erythrostylum, elegans and tracyanum to name but four of the better known species.

Behind all hybrids today is the selective breeding of many hybridizers with many different species to come up with the rounder, flatter form, the vibrant solid colors and the different blooming habits we find in the Cymbidiums most commonly sold today.
