Silken - What you are missing is that the plant Cym. Strathdon 'Cooksbridge Noel' was cloned and produced a mutation different enough from itself to warrant a separate clonal name hence the 'Cooksbridge Fantasy' clonal name. Hope that helps.

'Cooksbridge Noel' is indeed an awarded cultivar awarded an AM/AOS in 1992, 10 years after the cross was registered. It is NOT peloric but a lovely, solid raspberry red.

Unfortunately, Orchid Wiz has to rely on photographers who, well meaning and qualified in the photographic area they may be, have to rely many times on the names they see on entry cards at the shows. It took several years for the 'Cooksbridge Fantasy' name to be associated with that variation of the cultivar and it still is distributed in many areas as 'Cooksbridge Noel', which it obviously does not resemble.

All in all, this is a delightful plant to grow as it generally is a reliable bloomer and grows well.

CL
