Cym. NOID in bloom
My 2nd Cymbidium has been in bloom for a week or so. It's a NOID from Walmart a few years ago, but I like it. It has such a delicate colouring.

Thanks Gage. After being open for quite a few days they look as fresh as ever and it finally has a bit of fresh scent, but not as much as my other Cym. which is more of a sweet flowery scent..

Beautiful and congrats on getting it to bloom, can you please describe what conditions you keep it in, how much you water etc, I have one (unknown kind) and I just repotted it, the roots were awful and I took most off, it gets about 3 hours sun a day in an east window and its out all summer, it doesn't seem to be growing much this year. Thanks!

Thanks. I put it out in the spring as soon as any risk of frost at nights is gone. It sits near our garage which faces south and gets a fair bit of early afternoon sun and then more filtered sun (due to trees) for the rest of the day. It's a fairly bright location for the most part. I don't baby it or another one that just bloomed. They are fairly heavy feeders and I give them about 1/2 strength every other watering. Sorry I don't follow a rigid schedule and if it rains, then I don't water. By mid summer I throw in some bloom booster rather then my regular, but I don't really know if that's why they bloom. I let them get close to dry before watering and leave them out in the fall till it gets close to freezing. This is what triggers them to bloom as far as I know. They over winter in a cool (65F day 55F night) bright spot in the greenhouse but not under artificial light. Mine were already growing bloom spikes when I brought them in from outside but they have bloomed later other years, so not sure what caused that. Hope that helps.
