Cymbidium Mary Pinchess 'Del Rey' (In Bloom)
Presenting : Cymbidium Mary Pinchess 'Del Rey', HCC/AOS, B/CSA
A very free-flowering and vibrantly colored miniature cymbidium. It finally opened all its blooms and gave a spectacular show...Petals are a bright yellow with the lip cream and yellow and dotted with burgundy spotting. I follow the cymbidium culture to the letter because I am scared to kill this baby...This was strategically placed on the corner of the fire escape to make it feel the cool nights of autumn in New York(it is indoors as a centerpiece now that it is in bloom)...I need to repot it after its blooms because it is trying to burst the 1 gal. plastic pot...it has seven bulbs with two of the bulbs in bloom and there are two brand new growths developing.

Wow, I love it! What a 'Ray' of sunshine! I wish I could find some miniature cyms in Canada. I had one a few years ago from Cloud's but they don't seem to have them anymore. I have two standard ones in spike right now, but some smaller ones would be nice! Great growing!

It's been a couple years since they carried a selection of cymbidiums. Maybe the business of chilling them is too much when you're a large greenhouse. Oh well, I shouldn't be getting ANY more orchids but you know how that goes!
