Now I am totally confused cos I thought photo 2 was a spike. Well we should all know for sure in about a month. I will post an update. I will feel good if the darn thing reblooms !
oh - ok, couldn't tell what that white stuff was, and I first was concerned it was mold, then thought snail pellets, cos they always turn moldy looking when I use them

2nd pic could very likely be a spike to, just is smaller, so harder to be sure, but like I said, I wouldn't expect new growth on most cyms this time of year, so they are most likely spikes. Let us know how things develop!

well I have 5 new growths, no spikes. And I was sure at least one was different enough to be a spike. I still don't know how to tell the difference !

I think the problem was that I brought the plant in too soon. This year I will bring it in when temps go under 32, but then put it back outside in daytime, when temps are above that.

If you think about it, you will find that in the "big outside world", daytime times are almost always higher than night time temps. By putting the plants outside during a cold winter day with temps under whatever the night time temps in your house are (probably 55F-60F) and then bringing them into a warm house at night, you may be totally confusing the plant.

Default I don't disagree

but I have read reports of people trundling their cyms in and out of their garages. Also, if that doesn't work, what else do I try ? I asked Hausermanns and they told me that I had brought in the cym too early, but I said that temps had gone to 10f.....
Do I maybe leave it outside and wrap it in a freeze blanket on cold nights ?

actually I could probably move it outside in March.......in and out the garage ?
