If you google Thecostele secunda, a synonym for this one, it's listed on
wikipedia as being in tribe Cymbidiae and subtribe Eulophiinae, a classification that squares a lot better with the plant's vegetative morphology. I don't know a ton about the Aeridinae, but I can't think of a single one that is sympodial with pseudobulbs...
Culture-wise, Cymbidiae has everything from hot to cold growers, as does Vandeae, so it seems better to keep things oriented as to tribes than to classify by culture. Just my
