hows the cym lookin?

uhmm yes I do. Catts have fleshy leaves full of water and water boils. Catts just sit there and cook in the sun. Cyms have thin wispy leaves that bend and flex in the wind cooling them down. Not so much full of water and therefore they dont get cooked as easy as fleshy leafed plants do..

Hello Cym Ladye,
Do you mean that cymbs that their foliage tends to bend or easily fracture is because of lack of light?
I thought there were genetic factors (some hybrids have straight leaves, others twisted, etc.) and nutritional factors involved here also.
I believed that the color of the leaves was the determinate factor here; deep green=lack of light.
Could you explain your rationale in this case?

It is true that some cyms genetically have stiffer leaves, but the one shown in the picture seems weak. Color is an indicator but be careful as some madidum crosses will always have dark leaves. As a general rule the more complex hybrids should be a light green indicating a good amount of light for best flowering. This means several hours a day of good light, especially in the year prior to flowering. If the leaves are weak we also look at Ca and Mg nutrients and see if they are adequate. It is healthy leaves and good roots that make for a strong plant that flowers well.

That...is a gorgeous plant. How long did it take to get that huge, anyway? I imagine the floral display from this one was just as impressive.
