Help perking up a grammatocymbidium? Female
Default Help perking up a grammatocymbidium?

I just got this plant from an online vendor, and I have to say it is in less than stellar condition. A few of the leaf tips are blackened, and there are a group of leaves that have little black spots all concentrated in the same area. I have seen the black spots on a few different grammcyms at my local big box home inprovement store, and read somewhere that this was a sign of sunburn for these hybrids (though I don't know if that is correct or not).

I know these guys are supposed to be frequent bloomers, and as this is the only orchid I have a chance of blooming before the next winter, I would love to get this one in tip-top condition so it blooms soon.

I repotted it in a terra cotta orchid pot, in bark. I let it dry out almost completely before watering, and have been fertilizing "weakly, weekly." It looks happier than it did when I got it, but I was hoping for a little help to make sure I am doing this right. The black spots and leaf tips worry me a bit!
