I have 6 or 7 cymbidiums in spike right now. I have kept them cool for the winter in our shop, approx. 50 to 54 degrees. Some of the buds are almost fully developed and looking fine. My question is when they bloom will I be able to bring them into my home (70 ish) or to a show to display them or will I risk loosing the flowers/buds due to the temperature change. Your thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.
As long as the buds are open all the way taking to a show or bringing in the house should be ok .
But if just in bud I would not . When I first moved to Mo. from Calif. I did not have a cool area for them once they were brought in the house from outside in the fall the ones that budded in the house blasted . After we built a green house they were put in a cooler area and were fine .. Happy growing ..
