I think I'll try the same, I'm also very bad at fertilizing my cym as much as it needs to, since it usually gets the hose or rainwater from may to october.....

Great growing and a good tip about slow release - I put my Cyms outdoors and thus forget to feed as often as I should, too

yes, the controlled release fertilizer has helped a lot - I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who fails to fertilize the cyms

I actually have a couple more cyms with multiple spikes (waiting for buds to open) that have a lot more buds on them than this one. I'm not sure if this cym may just be a less prolific bloomer, or, if because I have had it several years, and it has suffered some periods of neglect, and is taking some time to rebound and may get higher bloom count in the future.
Still, this is the best bloom this plant has had for me, so I'm quite happy with it.

I may have not even thought about the controlled release fert, if I hadn't seen some discussion about it here on OB.

It's lovely Sonya. Nice growing. Sure wish I could grow Cyms here. They just don't like my climate and really don't like being indoors.

I would have thought Oregon would be mostly good for cyms - I do agree, they probably wouldn't do well indoors for long

They would probably do fine on the Oregon coast or the Willamette Valley, but I live in the southern part of the state which has more extreme temperature swings. Winters temps can be at or below freezing for weeks on end and in the summer the temps soar into the 100+ range also for weeks on end. They either freeze or fry.
