Couldn't resist this new Cym
Well I'm not sure if my first (and until now only) Cym will flower this year or not... so when I saw this beauty in the local garden center I just couldn't resist getting another one, despite it being a NoID.
It seems to have a smaller growth habit than my last one with the bigest leaves being perhaps half the length.
It has one spike fully open, one spike with buds and two smaller spikes which have not yet formed buds. Hope I can get them to develop and not blast
Oh, yes... and a light sweet 'green' fragrance. I know fragrances don't have a colour, but that's what my hubby describes it as and I know what he means. It reminds you of unripe fruit, green apples or something like that. It's quite plesent.

I would have bought it too! gorgeous!
I have mostly noid cyms, find them at garden centers and box stores, - Costco has some fantastic ones at great prices... they are just as beautiful without names ...

Rosie that is one beautiful Cymbidium. I really like the color on it. Too bad cymbidiums need a bit more cold than what I can give them. I do keep some warm growers but I'm waiting for spikes still.

the flower is very pretty. it is very hard to resist this beauty.
I had a similar one which did not rebloom for me last year. I am hoping it will rebloom this year . I did not see any spike yet . Maybe it will bloom in spring.
I post the picture of mine when I bought it

(Hmm, I noticed on another post that your picture had changed, now I know why!) She's very pretty and I really like the colour. Just right for brightening up this awful weather at the moment

Careful Rosie...or you will be like me with a few toboggans full of cymbidiums in your home for the winter!!!
Enjoy your new one, beautiful color. I presently have 18 plants in my shop 12 of which are spiking, so I'm hoping for an impressive show in a few months!

Thanks everyone
Brenda, I know... I'm sure I'll end up with a lot more of these as time goes by. I really want some of the smaller flowered ones with pendulous spikes.

Well the third spike is now producing buds, the fourth has grown... and what I thought was a growth spike may actually be another flower spike! Will have to wait and see but as it develops it's looking more that way

Yay Rosie, that's a lot of spikes!! I missed this thread, it's a very nice Cym you got! I too also really want one of the pendulous Cyms, but the few times I've seen some for sale they were at at least 50€. If I knew that I could consistently rebloom Cyms I MIGHT splurge on one, but I struggle enough with the 2 cyms I do have.
