CYMBIDIUMS GROWING IN LIZA BUCKETS
Hi
Thought you might like to see this. This is a cymbidium which I potted into a 9 litre bucket 3 years ago. It has grown so well that it has extruded out of the bucket - I call these Liza buckets as there are no holes in the bottom of the bucket, but I drill holes (using a tapered drill) on the sides about 40mm from the bottom of the bucket, which in effect creates a reservoir of water in the bottom, an ideal situation in this current drought we are experiencing. Water is hard to come by, we are up the creek with a paddle but no water!!!

This photo is taken as I took the plant out of the 9L bucket. Do you see any rotten roots, there just aren't any after standing in nutrient water, there were at least 2 cups of water still in the bottom of the bucket.

Out of a 9L Liza bucket and into a 20L Liza bucket
